On a difficult day for hurling with a gale blowing right across the pitch in Lisnamult, our Junior Hurlers took on Roscommon CBS. This game proved to be a very entertaining and competitive clash. In truth it was a very good advertisement for Roscommon hurling. Both teams struggled to get a foothold in the game early on as both teams battled for supremacy. The CBS got the first goal of the game and dominated large parts of the first half going in at half time four points up. Most of our scoring came from Adam Donnelly and Kyle Kelly. Our management team were far from worried as many of our players were putting in excellent performances. The second half saw RCC dominate with Liam Egan and Donnelly again scoring goals. With five to go RCC were just one point down but the CBS rear guard held firm and they finished the stronger team. Paddy Fallon in goals had an excellent game as did the full back line of Aaron O’Flaherty and Leo Gately. Mikey Lohan marshalled the half backline very well. Darragh Finneran at midfield, Liam Egan and Paddy Naughton up front hurling particularly well. We wish Darragh O’Sullivan a speedy recovery from injury.
