Hard luck to our minor Camogie team who were defeated by Woodford last Wednesday. The girls and management travelled to Woodford on Wednesday morning for a match at 11 o’ clock. The girls were ready and set to play a tough match from the get go. During the competitive game, Ailbhe O’ Sullivan put her body on the line and pulled out some world class saves in goal. These shots were followed up by Chloe McNamara and Mairéad Lohan, who displayed a huge amount of skill and determination whilst clearing the ball out of the back line. Mia Kilcline, Grace Dwyer and Andrea Fallon did very well to follow up and chase after the ball, driving high and low balls into Siafra Finneran and Sienna Snow. Siafra and Sienna scored some tremendous scores along with Andrea Fallon who popped over a few points from midfield. Aoibhinn Murray, Bridget Hoare and Eimear O’Connor also were firm and fought for every ball that came to them and more often than not it was the RCC girls who came out on top. Commiserations to the girls, who will be playing again in a 1st Year Connacht Camogie blitz the week before Easter.
