Our annual sports awards took place last week. The sports awards are our way to acknowledge our students for the huge effort they have put in over the academic year on the sports field. Our students exemplified everything good about our school while pulling on the blue and gold: courage, discipline and skill.

The range of sports now offered by our school has risen considerably due to the huge array of skills garnered by our teachers. We had 25 awards to hand out to worthy winners. They ranged from our traditionally strong sports, Gaelic Football, Hurling, Camogie and Athletics, to up and coming sports such as rugby, volleyball and soccer. A special mention much be given to Daniel Arnold, fifth year, and Lauryn Flaherty, third year, who won the Overall Sports Person of the Year in the male and female categories.  Well done to all those who received an award on the day and we wish you all the best in your chosen sports over the summer months.
