Roscommon Community College is thrilled to announce that we’ve been selected for the Children’s Books Ireland book-gifting awards 2024!
Inspired by their vision, ‘Every Child A Reader’, these projects have been designed to foster a genuine and lasting culture of reading in the selected schools. Through a wide range of book-gifting, creative and practical supports, alongside visits from a designated ‘Champion of Reading’, students will be empowered to read more, enjoy reading more and read more widely.
Roscommon Community College will receive 250 books over the course of the next year, 100 of which will be selected by the students, promotional materials, a Champion of Reading to work with the school and teacher resources and training on how to best use the new books in their library.
We’re eagerly anticipating the journey ahead and the wonderful opportunities it will bring for our students to embrace the joy of reading, creating a vibrant culture of literary exploration within our school.
