RCC U16 Basketball team kicked off the season in Castlerea last week with their first match against Lough Allen. The first quarter was hard fought with both teams all square at the break. RCC started strong in the second and third quarters, finishing two points ahead before the final quarter. After the game going level 15-15, Lough Allen took the lead to win the game.
The second game was against Elphin Community College where once again RCC made an excellent start, leading two points ahead at the close of the first quarter. Great skill and expertise were displayed on the court as RCC rallied to become the winners at 28-26.
RCC now advance to the next round which takes place after the mid-term break. Thanks to Julia, Leah, John and Seán Óg for assisting with the table on the day.
