TY students recently returned from an exciting four-day trip to Spain, packed with culture, science and sunshine.
The trip began with a smooth flight from Dublin to Barcelona, where the group wasted no time heading to the coastal town of Salou. The first day was spent relaxing on Salou’s famous beach, soaking up the Spanish sun and enjoying some well-earned leisure time.
On Day 2, the students explored the stunning mountain monastery of Montserrat, where they took in breathtaking views and learned about the site’s rich religious and cultural history. Later, they wandered through the historic streets of Tarragona, discovering Roman ruins and charming local shops. The evening concluded with a magical twist—a live magic show that left everyone amazed and entertained.
The third day was a highlight for many: a full day at PortAventura, one of Europe’s top theme parks. Screams of excitement echoed from the rollercoasters as students took on thrilling rides and enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere of the theme park.
The final day of the tour included a visit to the renowned Barcelona Aquarium, where students got up close with marine life from around the world. The educational adventure continued at the Cosmocaixa Science Museum, offering hands-on exhibits and interactive displays that made learning fun and inspiring.
The trip was a perfect mix of education, exploration, and enjoyment—an experience that will be remembered for years to come.
