Students from Roscommon Community College brought home six awards from this year’s GRETB Celebration of the Arts Awards Ceremony recently held in Galway. CEO David
Leahy commented on the exceptional standard across all entries from ETB schools in Galway and Roscommon. RCC students were awarded in a vast array of categories including Short Story Writing, Solo Singing, Songwriting, Group Dance and One Act Drama. A special acknowledgement was given to senior student Matthew Gomes for his incredible musical talent as he performed the blues electric guitar as guests arrived. - Isaac Fernandes de Pina, was awarded 2nd place for his entry in the Senior Singer/Songwriter category at the GRETB Arts Awards in Galway recently.
- Ivana Hudakova, Martina Sidelkova and Martina Hudokova, were awarded 2nd place for their traditional Slovakian Dance in the Group Dance category at the GRETB Awards.
- Faith Cresswell, was awarded 1st place for her original and engaging short story in the Senior Short Story Writing category at the GRETB Awards.
- Vitoria Oliveiro Morais, was awarded 1st place for her stunning vocal performance of John Legend’s ‘All Of Me’ in the Senior Singing category.
- RCC TY Macbeth Drama Cast and Crew were awarded 1st place in the One Act Drama category at the GRETB Arts Awards for their stand-out performance of Act One from ‘Macbeth’.
