A fantastic show of community spirit, support and generosity was evident over the past few months in Roscommon Community College as students engaged in an overwhelming fundraiser for George and Isaac Naughton. The second-year cohort, alongside the Principal, Deputy Principal, Year Head and support team not only fulfilled expectations, but exceeded all in the spirit of care, community and student fellowship. This fundraiser brought the entire school
community together, alongside the local community in Roscommon and further afield, as 13,663.20 was raised for George and Isaac’s quest to travel to America for an incredible opportunity to take part in a groundbreaking clinical trial that aims to slow the progression of Duchene Muscular Dystrophy. Our very own SNA Willie Hegarty hosted the much-anticipated raffle in the school Friday 14th March with lots of entertainment, fun and laughter along the way! A huge congratulations is extended to all prizewinners, and a massive thank you to ticket sellers and sponsors who gave so generously for such a worthy cause. A deep sense of pride, enthusiasm and community spirit radiated throughout the school as everyone came together in this remarkable endeavour to support George and Isaac.
