25th November 2022
Students and Staff of RCC are winding down after huge celebrations over the course of Stand Up Awareness Week 2022 in conjunction with BeLonG To Youth Service. Our week was kicked off superbly when the fruition of our hard work paid off with the upgrading of the pedestrian crossing outside Roscommon County Library to a rainbow pedestrian crossing to show solidarity and support for the LGBTQ+ students of RCC and for LGBTQ+ people throughout the county. It is truly a celebration of pride within our community. Thank you to all involved in getting this completed for us and in particular to the wonderful County Council road painters who were delighted to spread some colour on the streets for us!
Stand Up Week in RCC also involved a school-wide host of events consisting of visual presentations in classes and on noticeboards, student group photos, planting of our rainbow rose garden to picture round quizzes and so much more. Every year we go from strength to strength in celebrating the diverse and wonderful students we are proud to have in our school.
