On Thursday the 23rd of November our U19 senior girls’ soccer team faced Ballymahon Vocational School in their opening West Leinster league game at Athlone Town FC stadium. It was a very tight opening half by both teams, but RCC had a one nil lead at halftime thanks to Bridget Hoare. In the second half RCC became the dominant team and were clinical in front of goal. A stunning hat-trick from Heather O’Sullivan along with another goal from Eabhanna Sheridan and another terrific score from Shauna McDermott meant that RCC added five more goals to their lead in the second half. The game finished with an excellent 6-0 win over Ballymahon Vocational School and the first 3 points of the season for our senior girls. Well done to all the girls who played the match especially those who played their first ever soccer match for the school.
