Roscommon Community College has a long-standing tradition of nurturing and developing the talents of our musicians and singers through a diverse array of curricular and extracurricular activities.

 School Choir 

The esteemed School Choir comprises students from all year groups who perform at various events throughout the academic year. Members of the choir learn a range of songs from different genres and opportunities are provided for solo and group performances at key events such as graduation ceremonies, carol services and RCC open evenings.

Rehearsals: Mondays at lunchtime and Fridays 1.30-2.30pm in the Music room G21. New members are always welcome.

 Folk and Trad Society

The newly formed Folk and Trad Society comprises singers and musicians from all year groups who fuse their musical talents to perform a lively mix of Irish dance tunes, ballads, and folk songs. This is an exciting opportunity for students who can play, sing, listen to and appreciate folk and traditional music. New members are always welcome.

Rehearsals: Tuesdays at lunchtime in the Music room G21.

Trad Group

Members of the Trad group come together to learn new tunes and perform at key events throughout the year. Levels range from beginner to advanced and new members are always welcome. A key event in the school calendar is Seachtain na Gaeilge and St Patrick’s Day where the Irish music tradition is celebrated in RCC with solo and group performances.

Guitar & Ukulele group

Guitar and ukulele enthusiasts join forces to learn new songs in a bid to improve their technique and expand their repertoire.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays at lunchtime in the Music room G21 – Beginners, intermediate and advanced performers are welcome.

RCC Chamber Choir

Auditions for a chamber choir are underway – Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass vocalists are welcome to audition. Further details to follow.
