TY students who embarked on a project that explored education disadvantage through the lens of the Roma community in Ireland were invited to Merrion Street to present their findings. Their project gained significant recognition at the Stripe Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition and will also be hosted on paveepoint.ie in the coming weeks.
Recommendations stemming from their research include a more flexible approach to EAL provision, more inclusive teaching practice guidelines, and Roma culture and identity to be more visible and valued within schools. The RCC trio looks forward to sharing their findings and broadening their research as a means of placing Roma voices and experiences at its centre.
