TY students embarked on an exciting four-day tour to Lake Garda packed with culture,
sightseeing, and entertainment. The trip began with an early departure from Roscommon,
followed by a flight from Dublin Airport to Venice Marco Polo Airport. Upon arrival, students
explored the picturesque town of Sirmione and enjoyed a scenic boat tour featuring historic
landmarks such as the Scaliger Castle and the ancient Grotte di Catullo.
Day two took the group into the heart of Venice, where they travelled by water taxi and
Vaporetto to iconic sites including St. Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace. A guided walking
tour and a visit to a traditional Murano glass factory highlighted the city’s rich history and
craftsmanship. The highlight for many was a day at Gardaland, one of Italy’s top theme parks,
followed by an evening bowling trip in Verona. The final day included a visit to the famous
Verona Arena before some free time for shopping at Adigeo Commercial Centre.
With a mix of cultural exploration, fun activities and fantastic memories made, the TY tour
proved to be an unforgettable experience for all involved.
