Recently, our Junior Cycle students in 1st, 2nd and 3rd year got to participate in a fantastic workshop on Early Modern Ireland Warfare by Tomás Ó Brógáin and the Oireas history society. The students got to learn about the tumultuous times of the Nine Years War and pivotal Battle of Kinsale. It was a unique opportunity for our students to dive deep into history and beyond the pages of their textbooks. Our young historians also got hands on experience forming a pike formation and explored a fascinating array of weapons from the Early Modern Ireland time period (1534-1691). A massive thank you to Tomás Brógáin for putting on such an incredible workshop which the students thoroughly enjoyed.
