On Tuesday last, 11 of our students from 1st, 2nd and 3rd year attended a GAA taster session organised by Roscommon Gaels GAA club.
The training session included students from Roscommon Community College, Roscommon CBS and Roscommon Convent who had never played any GAA sports before, and who were from a non-Irish ethnic background.
Throughout the session, pupils learned some of the key skills of Gaelic Football, Hurling and Camogie, and got the opportunity to put the skills into action by playing games at the end.
Our students enjoyed the morning thoroughly, and many of them expressed a strong interest in taking up the different sports in school after taking part. Thanks are extended to Roscommon Gaels GAA for offering this experience to our students.
