24th February 2023
Roscommon Community College’s TY environmentalism class had the pleasure of a visit from Jeremy Casey who works with the Native Woodland Trust just before the February midterm break. Jeremy shared with the students his life experiences of moulding a career around his love for the natural world. Jeremey talked about his childhood growing up in South Africa, his work as a park ranger in South Africa and now his more recent work with the Native Woodland Trust. The students were shown examples of various wildlife that exists in Ireland’s woodlands including local woodlands St. John Woods in Lecarrow Co. Roscommon. After a quick questions and answers session the students and Jeremy went outside to look at the trees around the school before taking a group photo. The TY environmentalism class are looking forward to working with Jeremy and the Native Woodlands Trust in future projects.
