Congratulations to third year pupil Emily Dixon who recently won the student prize in the Hanna Greally Literary Award. This award is organised annually by the SiarScéal festival in Roscommon and entries were received from places as far as Australia, USA, and New Zealand.

Emily spent several weeks on her short story ‘October Love’ after being inspired by the theme Ebbing tides, sunlit mornings.

Emily was presented with her trophy and a prize of 100 euro in Roscommon County Library on Saturday 12th

November. Her short story was praised highly by the judges and Emily was lauded as someone who could have a career in writing in the future. Well done, Emily. We are all extremely proud of your fantastic achievement.
