Roscommon County Council celebrated the county’s finest achievements in sports, arts, and community contributions at its Annual Civic Reception, held on Monday, December 16th, at the Roscommon Arts Centre. This prestigious event recognised individuals and groups who have brought pride to the county through exceptional accomplishments.
Among the honorees this year were the Drama students at Roscommon Community College, who received high praise for their remarkable success at the Briery Gap All-Ireland Drama Competition in 2024. The talented students clinched three All-Ireland titles, earning accolades for Best Set Design, Best Acting Duo, and Overall Performance. Their adaptation of John B. Keane’s iconic play ‘Sive’ captivated audiences and judges alike, securing top marks and widespread admiration. The event highlighted the county’s vibrant cultural talent and celebrated the exceptional contributions of individuals and groups who continue to inspire pride in Roscommon.
