Recently our 6th-year student Sean Allen had the honour of discussing his research project findings with President Michael D. Higgins and his wife Sabina at Áras an Uachtaráin. Sean will present his project at the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition in January. Roscommon Community College will present a total of six projects at the exhibition. Individual project ‘Rooting for Sustainability: An Exploration of More Sustainable Grassland Nutrient Management for a Greener Future’ will be presented in the Biological and Ecological category while group project ‘Tagged walls and teenage tales: Unveiling the secrets behind graffiti in Secondary school bathrooms’ will be showcased in the Social and Behavioural Sciences category.
‘An Investigation into Contemporary Propaganda and a Retrospective on the Evolution of Widespread Misinformation Campaigns’ will be presented by a group of students from the school in the Social and Behavioural Sciences category, along with another group project ‘Exploring Adolescent Digital Entrepreneurship: A Study Of Participation On Trading Apps’ in the same category. Group project ‘Radon Revelations’ will feature in the Chemical, Physical and Mathematical sciences category while individual project ‘The Impact of Peer-Led Cyberbullying Prevention Workshops’ will be showcased in the Social and Behavioural Sciences category.
