5th year student Rachel Trimble, on behalf of Fianna Fáil Ógra Roscommon, met with Minister for Education Norma Foley on her recent visit to Roscommon Town. Rachel currently holds the position of secretary for Fianna Fáil Ógra and was honoured to meet her political inspiration. Rachel thoroughly enjoyed chatting to the Minister and discussed various topics such as student’s voice, women in politics and local issues such as the lack of indoor sporting facilities in Roscommon Community College. The lack of these facilities costs the school upwards of €50,000 each year due to expenses surrounding transport of students to an external sports center. This is an issue Rachel feels passionate about and will be bringing up in next week’s student council meeting. We would like to wish Rachel the best of luck in this venture.
