Roscommon Community College’s TY students brought their baking skills and creativity to the forefront in the much-anticipated Great RCC TY Bake Off 2024. This annual event offers students the chance to showcase their talents in a fun, yet competitive setting.
The six finalists, Alicia Nic an Bháird, Sara Stephens, Adam Leonard, Leah Flynn, Alanna Cleary, Bobby Brehon, and Shannan Gavin, were tasked with creating a Winter Wonderland themed buttercream or fondant cake. This challenge pushed their baking abilities to the limit as they worked to prepare stunning cakes worthy of the competition’s high standards.
The cakes were a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds, and the judges faced a difficult task in selecting a winner. After much deliberation, Leah Flynn was crowned the 2024 Bake Off winner for her exceptional vanilla sponge cake with buttercream icing, which perfectly embodied the Winter Wonderland theme. Adam Leonard was named runner-up for his impressive creation, and all participants were commended for their creativity and effort.
Congratulations to Leah Flynn, Adam Leonard, and all the talented TY bakers for making this year’s Bake Off a resounding success!
