5th and 6th year students attended The Irish Times Higher Options and WorldSkills Ireland Events in the RDS recently in a bid to explore various career opportunities in the third level sector and the skills and apprenticeship sector.

Valuable information was gained from representatives of third level institutions in Ireland, the UK and across Europe offering rich insights into the wealth of courses and career paths available. Students were delighted with the opportunity to attend inspirational talks, actively engage in demonstrations and speak directly with various educators with a view to making informed decisions about their future career plans. Students are now eagerly continuing their respective career investigative work following their educational trip to the RDS.

Congratulations is extended to past pupil Gerard O’Hara who participated in WorldSkills Ireland 2024 in the Electrical Installations Category. WorldSkills Ireland is not only a competition, but a platform for promoting apprenticeship and skills-based career opportunities. The school community is immensely proud to have Gerard represent Roscommon at national level.
