It was a busy week of activity for science in RCC as part of Science Week. Kathryn Murphy who is a community nurse from the Marie Keating foundation gave a brilliant talk to our 5th year biology and LCA students. Our 1st year science students took part in a ‘cellfie’ with their super creative cell models. Our 5th year and 6th year agricultural science students had an excellent informative talk from Henry Walsh about regenerative farming. RCC science students also welcomed 3rd class pupils from Gaelscoil De Hide to RCC to take part in science week. The students from Gaelscoil De Hide engaged in various different experiments and hands on activities which encouraged them to work like scientists and develop their skills in problem solving. Finally, to finish up Science Week on Friday 17th of November, 5th and 6th year physics and chemistry students got to take a trip to our local cinema Omniplex Roscommon to see a special viewing of Oppenheimer.
